Frequently asked questions
What is NOMAE?
A small aluminium tracker that sticks to the weight stack, and a free iPhone app. It times every rep so you can see if you’re actually getting stronger, and counts them so you don’t have to.
How does it show I’m getting stronger?
Same weight moving quicker than last month? Good sign. Last reps slowing right down? You’re near your limit. Coaches call it velocity-based training (VBT). Their bar sensors cost A$500 and up.
How do I use it?
Stick it on the side of the stack, pick the machine in the app, lift. No straps, nothing to wear. Pull it off when you’re done.
Which machines does it work on?
Anything with a steel weight stack: pulldowns, rows, chest press, leg curls, cable stations and more. The bench press bar too. Some machines hide the stack behind a cover, so check yours on the fit page.
How accurate is it?
It reads speed from how the stack moves, so it’s made for comparing you with you: same machine, week to week. Miscounted a rep? Fix it with a tap before you save.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Speed, reps and your log are free in the app. Coach, the AI chat, is an optional extra.
What phone do I need?
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. There’s no Android app. The app’s free through Apple’s TestFlight.
What happens to my workouts?
They stay on your iPhone, no account needed. Coming from Strong or Hevy? Import your old log and pick up where you left off.
How much is it, and when does it ship?
A$199 launch price, then A$249. Free tracked shipping in Australia. In stock, it ships next business day. On backorder, 12 to 18 days. Checkout shows which.
What if something’s wrong?
Email support@nomae.com.au and a real person in Brisbane sorts it out. Faulty? Repair, replacement or refund under Australian Consumer Law.
