What is NOMAE? Lift speed and reps on gym machines

NOMAE is a little rechargeable aluminium tracker that sticks to the weight stack on gym machines. It talks to the free NOMAE iPhone app over Bluetooth, which shows how fast every rep moves, how much you slowed down, and counts your reps.

What does the NOMAE tracker do?

Stick it on the side of the weight stack and lift. The app clocks how fast each rep goes up, so you can see your last reps dragging as you tire, and whether the same weight is moving quicker than last time. That’s velocity-based training. It counts your reps too. It doesn’t know which weight you picked, so you type that in. It’s made for comparing you against you, on the same machine.

Which gym machines does it work with?

NOMAE is designed first for pin-selected steel weight stacks, such as many lat pulldown, chest press, leg extension and seated row machines. The exercise name alone does not guarantee compatibility. The attachment must be secure and must not obstruct any moving parts. Check the gym-machine compatibility guide before using it. It isn’t made for plate-loaded or Smith machines.

What is the difference between NOMAE and NOMAE FIT?

NOMAE is the name of the tracker and companion app. NOMAE FIT is the registered business name of the Brisbane sole trader behind the product. See who makes NOMAE and how to contact support.

How much does it cost in Australia?

The tracker is A$199 launch price, then A$249. Free tracked shipping within Australia. Lift speed, counting and logging do not need a subscription; Coach is an optional paid service. Pricing and availability are also shown on the tracker page.

Can I get it now?

Yes. Order on the tracker page. The free NOMAE iPhone app is on TestFlight.
