# Checking the housing before the finished tracker

> What a test print can show, and what still needs a finished device.

A printed housing helps check the shape and how the parts fit. It is one step towards a tracker that can be used on a gym machine.

A housing test print, not a finished metal tracker.

Plastic test parts make it easier to check a design before making the aluminium housing. They do not establish how the final tracker holds to steel, how its Bluetooth connection behaves, or how long its battery lasts.

The finished unit still needs checks for attachment, clearance and rep counting on each intended machine type. That is why the [fit guide](https://nomae.com.au/fit) separates intended uses from confirmed compatibility.

Product renders show the design. They are not evidence of those tests passing. See the [tracker page](https://nomae.com.au/tracker) for current release information.
